Ancestral origins of the coffee stove

Ancestral Origins of the Coffee Stove is an interactive recipe book developed by the Quimbaya Gold Museum in collaboration with the Bank of the Republic of Colombia. It seeks to highlight the deep relationship between the pre-Hispanic legacy and the current culinary traditions of the Quindío region.

The recipe book is the result of rigorous archaeobotanical research, which identified 12 plants of great importance to the region's ancestral cuisine. Based on these, we worked with traditional cooks to create recipes that today speak to our history and our roots.

Each recipe is interactive: it contains a video that explains step by step how to prepare it and tells the life stories of those who cook it, providing an enriching experience.
